OFFART and Taiwanese tattoo artist Horiren continue their collaboration with a new take on the Hundred Cats Guren series. This time the pair introduce something entirely new to the project—a thermo color-changing version that transforms under heat.
The Thermo Purple Flame Fusion Mini Bust carries a deep purple tone when cool. When the surface temperature rises above 41°C, the color shifts dramatically into bright green, creating a molten, reactive look across the sculpt. Combined with glowing LED elements, the piece feels less like a static figure and more like a creature reacting to its environment.
The Legend of the Hundred Cats Flame
The concept behind the sculpture centers on a mythical flame guarded by one hundred sacred cats deep within a spiritual mountain. Their presence sustains a mysterious source of energy known as the Warmth Flame.
In its calm state, the flame appears quiet and controlled—represented by the deep purple color of the bust. When heat enters the flame, it awakens and spreads, igniting into a vivid green glow. The transformation symbolizes stored fortune and energy rising to the surface.
The sculpt reflects this idea through Horiren’s signature layered style. What first appears to be a single creature reveals dozens of small cats forming the larger beast, each one contributing to the presence of the whole.
