PeariA 3rd Anniversary Exhibition: A Pocket World That Brought Generations Together

A Pocket World in the Palm of Your Hand

From February 25 to March 5, PeariA Studio held its 3rd Anniversary special exhibition, A Pocket World in the Palm of Your Hand — Storage Toy Design Exhibition.
This exhibition was designed as a walk-through of how a Taiwan-born toy brand has grown—through design drafts, physical prototypes, and years of hands-on experimentation.

Curated as a visual timeline, the exhibition documented PeariA’s creative process from early concept sketches to finished pocket-scale playsets, presenting the most honest version of the brand’s development so far.

Three Years of Pocket-Scale Storytelling

Over the past three years, PeariA has steadily shaped its work around a consistent idea:
miniature scenes paired with storage-driven storytelling.

From the Mighty Max 30th Anniversary Mighty Hat Playset to the internationally recognized Godzilla vs. Biollante Pocket Toy Playset, each release explored how compact objects can carry layered narratives within a confined form.

This exhibition expanded that conversation by revealing materials rarely seen by the public—rejected proposals, abandoned concepts, and unproduced prototypes—alongside open discussions about production costs, manufacturing constraints, and real-world decision making.

Rather than a showcase only for collectors, the exhibition resonated with anyone who once played with toys, creating a shared space where different generations could reconnect with the visual language of 1990s design through a contemporary lens.

About Mighty Max

The Mighty Max series is a pocket-sized scene toy line centered on Max and his battles against dark creatures across different realms. Each compact playset unfolds into a complete world, combining transformation mechanisms with dense visual storytelling.

Its strong play value and mechanical ingenuity made it a standout toy line of the early 1990s. To support the toy release, an animated television series aired in the United States from 1993 to 1994, followed by video game and comic adaptations that expanded its universe.

Mighty Max Reborn: A New Universe by PeariA

After the final battle between the Skullmaster and the Pan-Dimensional Beings, time fractures—and the Mighty Max universe splinters into multiple timelines.

Twenty years later, a new chosen one emerges: Robin, a boy fascinated by old-school gaming hardware. By combining a second-hand handheld console known as Game Max with discarded computer parts, he accidentally opens rifts between dimensions.

From these gaps, newly formed entities slip into reality—and a new chapter begins. This reimagined universe, Mighty Max Reborn, reflects PeariA’s approach to reinterpretation through design, structure, and narrative continuity.

As longtime fans of the Mighty Max series, Sunny Studio is continuing to work on bringing more of PeariA’s releases to the U.S. We’re excited to share what’s ahead—more to come soon.

About Licensing and Rights

Mattel began re-registering the Mighty Max trademark in the United States in 2016, but the registration has not been completed to date.

In Taiwan, PeariA Co., Ltd. legally holds the Chinese and English trademarks for Mighty Max, making PeariA the current authorized rights holder within Taiwan. All products released as part of this exhibition—and those planned for future release—are legally registered, officially licensed, and compliant with applicable intellectual property laws.
