The Concept and Collaboration Behind Goodzila
We are excited to cover another figure by Noger Chen, a talented Taiwanese illustrator whose drawings draw inspiration from his childhood in the 80s, connecting his experiences with the iconic kaiju theme. By working with soft vinyl veteran Black Seed Toys, Noger brings his design to life, creating a collectible that showcases both his ideas and Black Seed's expertise.
Nozilla Shodai: A Tribute to the 80s Kaiju Era
The original colorway of Nozilla Shodai went viral upon its release five years ago. Now, to celebrate the 5th anniversary, Noger Chen is reviving this iconic piece from the beloved Childhood Kaiju Series. Dressed in a traditional Taiwanese school uniform, Nozilla pays tribute to the 80s show era with its classic black and white color theme. The childhood kaiju figures always come with accessories that remind us of our fun childhood times, and this set includes three iconic pieces, such as Taiwanese trains, turrets, and power towers! 🗼🚂 These accessories represent Taiwan’s fast-growing industrial developments during that era. The open-mouth design of Nozilla allows the train accessory to be placed into his mouth, as if he’s ready to chomp down like a true kaiju from those childhood memories.
First Reveal at Taipei Toy Festival 2024
Unveiled at the Taipei Toy Festival, Nozilla combines nostalgia and creativity. The design captures the essence of Godzilla while celebrating the 80s in Taiwan, making Nozilla feel like watching TV from that time, giving you a sense of time travel.
